4 Common Life Regrets And How To Avoid Them

Regrets are an inevitable part of life, and while they are completely normal to admit, there are certain lessons to be learnt from them for the betterment of your life and wellbeing. Here are some common regrets that people have and how to go about them.

1. Not Living Life For Yourself

A lot of people make this mistake. People tend to live a life for others’ approval and validation. What they forget along the line is their happiness and whether they wanted to pursue this life or not. This can be a hard thing to realize especially after a lot of time has passed. To avoid being regretful about this later on, make sure you have a clear vision about your goals and what you want to do in your life. Once you know what you want, that’s not enough, you have to practice what you preach and not think about what others might think, say or do.

2. Not Being More Present

People tend to worry about the future or live in the past. They forget to live in the present moment and let nature take its course. This can be very unfulfilling for a lot of people. This is why it is said that you should never stress on anything which will not matter in the long run. Stressing about things which are beyond human control is nothing but wasting time. The past is gone and the future depends on how you live in the present, so make sure that you are present in the moment and living life to the fullest.

3. Not Having The Courage

Either you chickened out because the job was out of your league or you couldn’t pursue what you loved because you were scared, cowardice can hold a lot of people back from pursuing their true dreams. Building courage is extremely important because it pushes you to at least try once. If you still don’t get what you wanted, then you can at least pay yourself on the back for trying. If you never try, you will never find out what you are missing in life.

4. Not Listening To Your Intuition

Your gut feeling is never wrong and a lot of people suppress their gut feeling because of fear, peer pressure or expectations. This is not the way to live a fulfilling life. Whenever you are in a situation which is uncomfortable or undesirable, always listen to your intuition, because it will get you out of such unfavorable circumstances. Your intuition says a lot about the goals you are trying to reach. You should feel more in tune with your body and inner feeling about what you want. This will lead you to amazing places.
